What roles do newspapers play in a democracy?Newspapers play such a vital role in a democracy the one of the founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson, would rather have a newspaper without a government, than a government without a newspaper. This is so because newspapers let citizens know what's going on with the government in which they live so that they can have a voice on the current news going on. If the government becomes corrupt, the citizens should know about it and will through news, by way of multiple outlets now a days, such as the T.V., internet, digital devices, newspapers, radios, among an increasing amount of other ways.
